HIT Training Pre-Interview Task
I chose to create a multimedia resource on FIFO (First In, First Out) stock rotation because it represents a focused yet fundamental aspect of effective kitchen management. FIFO is ideal to convert to a standalone lesson due to its straightforward nature, relevance to everyday kitchen operations and direct impact on reducing waste and improving food safety.
To keep things engaging, I combined a short audio podcast (that I recorded myself) with an interactive Articulate Rise mini-lesson.
The podcast provides clear, succinct instruction on FIFO, appealing directly to auditory learners and covering the essentials in under two minutes. The interactive mini-lesson uses sorting activities, scenario-based questions and recap checklists, making sure learners actively apply their knowledge in realistic contexts.
Visual elements like the milk carton scenario reinforce key points and enhance retention through practical, relatable examples.
The content is accessible: the podcast has a full transcript and the images have alt text descriptions. Leaners from all walks of life can enjoy this lesson.
This multimodal approach (combining auditory, visual, and interactive elements) not only engages learners but demonstrates my ability to effectively transform written content into clear, concise and impactful resources.
